As the days begin to get longer, enjoying your residential landscaping is a certainty. Whether it's your pool, garden, or outdoor lounging and kitchen area, summer is on the horizon, and it’s time to make sure your grill is ready for the abundance of use fast-approaching.
Your Akron outdoor living space wasn't complete until you installed the perfect grill. You've invested a lot in that masterpiece, and caring for is one of your top priorities. Although you did use it during the winter months, prime time for backyard gatherings is right around the corner. While you have some time, cleaning your grill both inside and out will ensure it’s ready when regular usage becomes the routine.
Investing 30 to 45 minutes of your time, thoroughly scrubbing your grill, provides the perfect opportunity to make sure everything is in working order for the summer. Start by turning on and heating up the grill, so any grease and dried food remnants are removed. Once completed, turn off your gas value and disconnect from the gas tank. Making sure your racks have cooled off enough to touch, submerge them in a large bucket with warm soapy water for 15 minutes. Using a steel brush or wool, clean the grill racks scrubbing all the carbon away. When you've finished with the racks, and they've cooled and dried, coat them with cooking oil to prevent them from rusting. Remove anything else that you can like grill knobs and grease tray, both of which can be cleaned with a new bucket full of warm water and soap. Finally, Inspect the burners for signs of corrosion or anything blocking the row of flame holes.
Turning your attention to the outside of your grill won’t take as much sweat equity. If you have stainless steel, use a stainless-steel polish or vinegar can also be used for both stainless and other grill surfaces. Re-assemble all the parts you removed to clean, reconnect the propane take and fire up the grill to ensure any residues from cleaning is burned off. Now that your grill is in tip-top shape wiping it down monthly will go a long way in its longevity along with utilizing a grill cover when not in use. Enjoying your residential landscaping wouldn't be complete without backyard barbeques. Now that your grill is buffed and shined, you can grill well into the summer nights.
